Linked Travel Arrangements

Notice under EU Directive 2015/2302 about Linked Travel Arrangements facilitated through AVARA.

This page sets out AVARA's standard information notice under Article 19 of the EU Package Travel Directive (Directive (EU) 2015/2302), in the form prescribed by Annex II of that Directive.

A Linked Travel Arrangement (LTA) is formed if, after selecting and paying for one travel service through AVARA, you select and pay for an additional travel service — for example a hotel after a flight, or transport after a hotel — through a targeted handoff from AVARA, within

a "package" under the Directive. Each service remains a separate contract between you and the trader providing that service. There is no single organiser responsible for the entire trip.

of the Linked Travel Arrangement. AVARA is not the organiser, is not the retailer, and is not the merchant of record for any of the services you book. AVARA does not receive or hold payment for the travel services themselves.

Each travel service is governed by the terms and consumer-protection rules applicable to that service and to the trader you contracted with.

have rights against AVARA for improper performance of the individual services.

If a trader from whom you have booked an individual service becomes insolvent, the insolvency protection arranged by that trader applies to monies you paid to that trader.

AVARA has no liability under the Directive for payment of refunds or for your repatriation in the case of the trader's insolvency, because AVARA does not hold any payment for the travel services.

Provider details to follow before launch. AVARA does not currently sell or facilitate Linked Travel Arrangements; multi-service handoffs are disabled until a contracted Travel-as-a-Service partner is in place.
