Third Place Pasta Bar A casual neighbourhood pasta bar opened 2025, built on fresh pasta, good drinks, vinyl and weekly events. Warm and easy.
Café Regatta A tiny red wooden cabin by the bay, hung with old skates and kettles, for cinnamon buns and coffee by the water. The most photographed café in Finland, and rightly loved.

Best time to visit: June to August for near-endless daylight, island-hopping and terrace life. December for snow, design markets and the polar dark's strange beauty; the sauna makes any season bearable.
Getting around: Trams, metro and buses are efficient and the centre is flat and walkable. Ferries serve the islands, including the Suomenlinna sea fortress. A public-transport day ticket covers the ferry to Suomenlinna.

Kamppi & Kluuvi — The central commercial core around the station and Amos Rex, walkable to almost everything, with the liveliest run of shops and restaurants.
