- The archipelago is a year-round destination. December to May is warmer with calmer seas and clearer skies (good for snorkelling); June to November is cooler and drier, with rougher seas but the richest marine life and active birds. Each season offers different wildlife highlights.

- Flights from Quito or Guayaquil land on Baltra or San Cristóbal. From there, most travel is by expedition cruise ship or by inter-island speedboat and day tours from the inhabited islands (Santa Cruz, San Cristóbal, Isabela). All visitor sites require a licensed naturalist guide.
