Copenhagen tops most family lists: Tivoli, safe cycling, family-sized hotel rooms, and a genuine culture of children being welcome in restaurants. Amsterdam is similar with the added draw of NEMO, the zoo, and canal boats. Barcelona has the beach as a reset button plus Park Güell and Ciutadella. Lisbon works in shoulder season with warmer weather. Berlin is unexpectedly kid-friendly — playgrounds every few blocks and enormous museum-shop cafés. Rome and Paris are more challenging with under-5s: cobbles, long sight lines, and less obvious kid infrastructure.
