AVARA guides and answers are produced by the AVARA editorial team — a group of travel writers, editors, and travel-industry practitioners working from Stockholm and remotely across Europe, North America, and Asia. City guides are written by editors with lived familiarity with the destination or on-the-ground reporting trips; answers are written by our disruptions and booking desks.
Every factual claim in an answer or guide is traceable to at least one of: primary regulation (EU 261/2004, Montreal Convention, Canada APPR), operator-published information (airlines, rail operators, official tourism boards), or first-hand editorial reporting. We link to sources inline. We do not paraphrase press releases as fact.
date. City guides are reviewed at least annually and after any material change to visa rules, transport operators, or currency. Answer pages are reviewed quarterly and after any regulatory change. When a review confirms the content is still accurate, the date is bumped and no other change is made. When it is not, the guide is rewritten and re-dated.
AVARA uses AI models internally to draft outlines, summarise long-form sources, and surface freshness gaps. Every AI-drafted paragraph is reviewed, fact-checked, and re-written by a human editor before publication. No page is published unedited.
AVARA does not accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage, ranking, or inclusion in guides. When we book on our members' behalf, we disclose supplier relationships. Sponsored placements, when they exist, are clearly labelled and never appear inside guide or answer content.
